TV
I found a program, Sopcast, that allowed me to watch the live CBS feed of yesterday’s Patriots game. Unfortunately the live feed was at 5am and I fell asleep at halftime, but it was still awesome to be able to watch the game. I’m just confused why I didn’t find this four months ago when I was searching for anything to watch baseball on. I could have potentially watched games all season (although I tried to watch the Celtics tonight and the feed wouldn’t come through, so I’ll have to wait to report on reliability). It worked great for the Conference Championship at least. However, the Super Bowl is not on the schedule so I still have to figure that one out.
Coincidentally I got my regular TV hooked up with cable today after a month’s wait. I decided in December to get cable after hearing that there were some good English channels, and also realizing I wanted to see what Korean TV was like. Andrew promised to get it set up in December. Then he quit instead, so it took quite a while.
I’m already fascinated. There are two channels continuously airing video game gameplay, one channel airing a Go match, and one alternating between math problems and English grammar exercises. In relevant news, there are two full-time English stations: Discovery Channel and Arirang. Discovery is the closest thing there is to a pure American station. It is an Asian regional broadcast, but it’s always in English and has all the same shows, so I’m not sure why. Arirang is a Korean-based English language network, including nightly news. There are also four movie channels that primarily show American movies. Lastly, FOX & ESPN have Korean networks that have a mix of Korean and American programming
On an unrelated note, I got some mail today: my absentee ballot. It was postmarked December 6. I have a feeling it’s been at work for weeks and they just forgot to give it to me. That sucks.

Hi Mike
Greetings from beautiful Lowell, MA. I don’t mean to be a nag, but are you planning on bringing us up to date anytime soon? Like your Uncle Jim used to do, I got into the habit of coming here at least once a week during lunch…hope all is well.
